FAQ
Fees, Payment & Insurance
What is the fee for counseling services?
I offer a brief consultation so we can determine whether we are a good fit.
The consultation fee is $50 and is applied toward your first session if you choose to move forward.
Most clients begin with a standard therapy session: 50–53 minute session: $170
Some clients benefit from additional time for deeper trauma work.
Extended sessions are available when appropriate: 90-minute session: $310
More intensive therapy options (such as EMDR intensives or IFS intensives) are available and can be discussed during consultation. Please mention your interest in the intensives when you reach out.
Do you offer a free consultation?
I offer a focused 30-minute video consultation designed to determine whether my approach to trauma therapy is a good fit for your needs. The consultation fee is $50.
This paid consultation allows us to discuss your goals, answer questions, and clarify next steps without pressure.
If we both feel this is a good fit, and you decide to move forward, the consultation fee will be applied toward your first session.
Do you accept insurance?
I do not accept insurance and am not in-network with any insurance plans. I work as an out-of-network provider.
Many insurance plans offer out-of-network mental health benefits, which allow you to choose your own provider.
Here’s how that typically works:
- You pay the full session fee at the time of service.
- I provide you with a detailed receipt (superbill) that you can submit to your insurance company.
- Depending on your out-of-network benefits, your insurance company may reimburse you directly.
As an out-of-network provider, I do not have access to your insurance benefits or claims. You are responsible for:
- Verifying your out-of-network coverage
- Submitting claims
- Tracking reimbursements with your insurance company
Helpful questions to ask your insurance provider:
- Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
- What is my out-of-network reimbursement rate?
- Do I have a deductible? If yes, how much is it?
- After my deductible is met, what percentage is covered?
- Are services from a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) covered under my plan?
Do you have a sliding scale?
There are limited sliding scale slots. At this time all the sliding scale slots are full.
Can I use my HSA or FSA card?
Yes, you may use HSA or FSA cards for counseling services. Please verify eligibility with your HSA or FSA provider before using the card.
What payment methods do you accept?
I accept credit cards.
What is your cancellation policy?
I have a 24-hour cancellation policy.
If an appointment is not canceled at least 24 hours before the scheduled start time, the full session fee will be charged for late cancellations or no-shows.

Therapy Process and approach
What do therapy sessions look like?
In the first few sessions, we focus on understanding what brought you to therapy, what’s currently happening in your life, and what you would like to work on. We then collaborate to clarify your goals and create a treatment plan that feels supportive, paced, and aligned with your needs.
My work is informed by EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and IFS (Internal Family Systems), along with a trauma-informed approach. This means we don’t just talk about what happened — we pay attention to how your experiences are stored in your body, nervous system, and emotional world.
Together, we explore:
- Your current life experiences
- Childhood memories and early relational patterns
- Significant relationships
- Patterns that show up across different phases of your life
Therapy is a collaborative process. You are the expert on your life; I bring clinical expertise and experience. This work is not about being told what to do. It’s about helping you understand what you truly want, what feels aligned for you, and what supports meaningful, lasting change.
Depending on your goals and readiness, sessions may include:
- IFS-informed work to gently get to know different parts of you — including protective parts, wounded parts, and the parts of you that carry fear, anxiety, or self-criticism — with curiosity and compassion
- EMDR-informed processing to help your nervous system reprocess difficult or overwhelming experiences so they feel less emotionally charged and no longer run your present-day reactions
My role includes:
- Holding space for all your parts, without judgment
- Helping identify and work through internal resistance or stuck patterns
- Bringing awareness to themes or dynamics you may be overlooking
- Supporting nervous system regulation and emotional safety
- Helping you recognize and build on your strengths and inner resources
- Encouraging and gently challenging you at your growth edge
The pace of therapy is guided by your nervous system and your readiness. We move in a way that prioritizes safety, stability, and integration — not pushing, but supporting real change.
How long and how often are sessions?
Sessions are typically 50–53 minutes and held weekly. We regularly review your goals and progress. As things stabilize, we may shift to biweekly sessions and later to monthly check-ins, depending on your needs.
How long does therapy take?
The length of therapy varies for each person. It depends on your goals and what you would like to work on. This is an ongoing, collaborative conversation, and we will regularly check in and adjust based on your progress and preferences.

EMDR intensive
Do you offer EMDR intensives?
Yes, I offer EMDR intensives.
Does insurance cover EMDR intensives?
I do not accept insurance. As with regular therapy sessions, I will provide a receipt that you can submit to your insurance company for out-of-network reimbursement, depending on your plan.
How do I schedule an EMDR intensive?
Please send me a message through the contact form on my website, indicating your interest in an EMDR intensive. We will schedule a 30-minute video consultation to discuss your goals, answer questions, and determine if an intensive is a good fit. The consultation fee is $50
If we decide to move forward, the consultation fee will be applied toward your first session.
How many EMDR intensive sessions are needed?
The number of sessions varies and depends on:
- Your goals
- How deep you would like to go
- The complexity of the target
- How your system responds to the work
If we focus on one specific goal and one target memory, and all parts are on board, it may be possible to clear a target in 6–8 intensive sessions. Sessions can be scheduled back-to-back or spaced out, depending on your needs and capacity.
