If you were to ask me to describe a narcissist in a few words, my words of choice would be self-centered and lacks empathy. People pleasing is a type of codependency, and narcissists attract codependents. Codependent behavior is taking care of other people to the point where your own needs and sense of self is lost.
People pleasers are the nicest and the most helpful people you know. They are the ones you can always count on for any favor. They never say no. They help other people. People pleasing is a type of codependency, they tend to prioritize other people’s needs and overlook their own needs. So are people pleasers born like that?
Why do I feel hurt, angry and embarrassed when I sense rejection? Rejection might come in different forms at different stages of life from different people. It does not matter how old we are or what part of the world we are from. It always hurts. Sometimes we wonder why we crave for company in spite of having been rejected and hurt so many times.
